Country Goes to Rome

When opportunity strikes, a guy better seize it. Such has been the case for my buddies Josh Meier and Jared Biegler and I. All of us had the desire to go to Rome for the upcoming canonizations of Blesseds Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati on Sept. 7th. With doors opening wide to go, we went a few days early and will stay a couple days after.

Josh, middle, went to seminary here for a couple years. As for Jared and I, this is new territory.

We got an Airbnb apartment. Good place, just outside the walls of the Vatican.

After a 10 hour flight from Denver to Rome, we hit the ground running and checked out St. Peter's Square. Cool.

Then grabbed a little bite and met with Josh's buddy, Fr. Patrick.

After that, he took us to the North American College (NAC), where Josh and him attended seminary.

Here, guys from all over the US come for seminary formation. They usually camp out at the NAC and attend various schools around Rome. This courtyard has 50 orange trees planted, one for each state represented.

They do their best to make it like home. Physically activity always helps with that.

The view from the roof top, can't be beat!

Good stuff. This trip will likely prove to be wild. We have a few big things lined up, but also some down days. Stay tuned to see how everything plays out. Let's ranch.

  1. Love that little half car parked outside the bnb. Kind of awestruck at the history you're walking through. Amazing.
