Great analogy of horses and children. Having started 10+ horses the past 15 years and teaching high school students for 25+ years (and raising 2 kids of my own) I constantly refer to the horse trainer Ray Hunt. He would say “make the right things easy and the wrong things difficult”. I think Jesus does the exact same things with us. He gives us free will to make the right choices and is proud of us when we do. But then when we don’t make the right decisions (we sin), He still loves us enough to forgive us. My mom would constantly say to my sisters and me growing up. “I may not always like what you do but I will always love you”. Thanks again Fr. Bryce for sharing your words with us.
